GW Systems Dotcom Sdn Bhd (Globalwatch) is offering a mobile asset management solution which it said would allow clients to customise and track mobile data and deliver location-specific information.

"We are a solutions provider for fleet management services. Our target industry sectors are transport and logistics, haulage and courier, oil and gas and fast moving consumer goods," said Globalwatch chairman Datuk Chan Tien Ghee.

"For example, the headquarters of a courier company with a large fleet of vans or trucks can call up their vehicle and locate details of their position at any given time, from a black box installed in the vehicle," he said.

"This black box receives and transmits GPS data such as position of vehicle, its heading and sensor reading. The data is accessible 24 hours a day."

Globalwatch provides a Global Transport Telematics System (GTTS) infrastructure via its GTTS Service Bureau in Kuala Lumpur that runs 24 hours a day.

With GTTS, Globalwatch claims it can offer end-to-end mobile asset management solutions using GPS (Global Positioning System), GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) and Internet technologies.

"We target to have 1,500 subscribers within a year," Chan said, but declined to name Globalwatch's current clients.

Globalwatch executive director Ng Wooi Choy said that the solution delivered via the ASP (Application Service Provider) model would cost between RM100 to RM200 per month per vehicle.
