Muar: The Government has allocated a total of RM10mil to install the "Total Station" computer system for land mapping and survey works at 108 land and mines offices nationwide by January next year.

Parliamentary Secretary to the Land and Cooperative Development Ministry, Dr Robia Kosai said the ministry hoped that the system would speed up the process of land title applications.

"The tender for the supply of the computer has been issued and we hope that all 108 land and mines offices will have the computers installed by January next year.

"We have also told officers from the offices to undergo a course on handling the computers at the Land Surveyor Institute in Bahrang," she told a media conference here yesterday.

Dr Robia said the "Total Station" computer system was not only faster, easier and cheaper, but was economical as it only needed to be handled by one person.

Besides that, she said the ministry would increase the number of workers at land offices to resolve the delay in land application matters.
