Ministry Drafting Geospatial Act, Says Uggah PDF Print E-mail

SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- The Natural Resources and Environment Ministry is drafting the National Geospatial Act which aims to improve governance of activities related to the application of geographically based data.

The minister, Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas, said that the Act would help develop a spatially-enabled government and society.


Apart from the Act, agencies under his ministry had formulated strategies for better coordination and effective use of geospatial data, he said at the opening of the three-day 10th International Symposium and Exhibition on Geoinformation 2011 here.

He said the geographic information system (would greatly help policy makers to achieve sustainable management of Malaysia's natural resources and environment.
